Import your trips
Load your whole travel history at once from a spreadsheet.
If you already have a list of the countries you’ve visited, you don’t have to add them one by one. Fill in a simple spreadsheet and import it — Hexstamp turns each row into a trip on your map.
⬇︎ Download the template (CSV)Opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.
Fill it in
One row per country. The first four columns are all you need:
| Country | From | To | Type | Places | Companions | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | 2019-04-01 | 2019-04-12 | Leisure | Tokyo; Kyoto | Sam; Priya | Cherry blossoms |
| Singapore | 2024-11-02 | 2024-11-05 | Work |
- Country — a name (
Japan) or code (JP). A place in brackets, likeJapan (Okinawa), is understood too. - From / To — dates like
2019-04-01. Leave To blank for a single day. - Type —
LeisureorWork. - Places, Companions, Notes — optional, and part of Hexstamp Pro. Separate multiple places or people with a semicolon (
;). Free imports keep the first four columns.
Import it
In Hexstamp, go to Settings → Import Trips, then either:
- Choose the file — save your filled-in CSV to iCloud Drive (or AirDrop it to your phone) and pick it in the app; or
- Paste it — copy the rows from your spreadsheet and tap Paste from Clipboard.
Hexstamp shows you every trip it read, so you can fix or skip anything before it’s added. Nothing is imported until you confirm.
Tip: this is easiest on a Mac or iPad — edit the spreadsheet and import in the same place. On a Mac, save to iCloud Drive and the file appears on your iPhone automatically.
